ZKL is investing in modern production facilities as part of the plan to expand the production of new generation tapered roller bearings in the Brno plant.
The installation of new machinery and its commissioning is proceeding according to plan and production of the first CTBUs (compact tapered roller bearing units) and single row tapered roller bearings for customers in the railway sector is already underway. These bearings are designed for the complete fitting of rolling stock traction chassis, from axle to motor. The investment follows the previous development of a new range of bearings with extended life interval.
In addition to machine tools from German and Czech manufacturers, whose design was adapted to the designs and requirements of ZKL technologists, the new technologies also include new equipment for non-destructive testing of axle bearing components. The new workplace located in the reconstructed hall of ZKL Brno plant has already passed several audits of key OEM customers of the railway segment. We expect to reach full production capacity at the turn of 2024.
All the steps taken lead to the fulfilment of the ZKL Group's strategy to provide its customers with a comprehensive range of railway bearings and comprehensive solutions for more reliable and safer mobility of tomorrow.
