ZKL Group produced large-scale thrust spherical roller bearing 294/950EM NF in the Brno production plant and thus expanded its range of large-scale bearings for the energy industry. This bearing will be installed in the air pre-heater of a thermal power plant in Asia. The outer ring of the bearing measures 1 600 mm. The weight of the bearing is 3 t, with a single rolling element weighing 40 kg.
Air pre-heaters are very often used in thermal power stations for heating the air coming from the waste heat. The electrical stations then have a better efficiency and can achieve higher performances. The working conditions of air pre-heaters are very demanding and place high demands on bearing quality. ZKL produces large-size thrust spherical roller bearings for the rotors of air pre-heaters which can bear both high thrust as well as radial loads.
